On Saturday, November 16th, we welcomed our neighbors to Power Ford in Albuquerque to help them get rid of all of those old electronics. The turnout was amazing, and all of the generous items received helped raise money for a great cause.
The 2nd Annual Electronics Recycling Event is just one of our many Albuquerque Ford dealership events that helps service the community. We teamed up with New Mexico Computer Recyclers in order to help raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
Two Community Leaders Go Pound-for-Pound to Donate Money for Multiple Sclerosis
People usually bring their old electronics to the recycling center and maybe get a few dollars for something as big as a desktop computer. This may seem like a great loss after you factor in how much you actually paid for it, so we offer an alternative.
Our Albuquerque Ford dealership donated ten cents to the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation for every pound of everything that was recycled on the 16th. Additionally, New Mexico Computer Recyclers matched the donation.
Essentially, those who donated were simply giving what they would have gotten at the recycling center to research for Multiple Sclerosis. Also, it gave them a reason to clear out all those old electronics that have been collecting dust in their garages, offices, attics, etc.
Items such as computers, ink and toner cartridges, cell phones, batteries, file cabinets, AC adaptors, various household appliances, and much more were all accepted. We are sure there is something in many of our homes that we could easily part with.
We would like to remind everyone that these types of donations are amazing selfless ways to give back to those who need it, and we will continue to hold events like this so watch our site for the next date. By being part of the automotive industry we have seen many great organizations that take items like junk cars and turn them into hope for the less fortunate.
