Here at our Ford dealer serving Rio Rancho, we’re proud to announce that the 2017 Ford F-150 has received some new updates for the new year, and drivers can expect to make fewer stops at the pump as a result. New F-150 models will feature an all-new EcoBoost® engine paired with a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission, which ups the miles per gallon this model gets by 1 MPG across the board when compared with the 2016 model. While a 2016 Ford F-150 achieved 16 MPG in the city, and 22 MPG on the highway, the 2017 model will receive 17 MPG in the city, and 23 MPG on the highway.
Don’t worry, these savings at the pump don’t come at the cost of the power that F-150 fans have come to love from the brand. In fact, the second-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine features 50 lb.-ft more peak torque than its first generation. Altogether, it produces a segment-leading 470 lb.-ft of torque, and that includes all diesel, gasoline, and V8 competitors. In addition, this model features up to 375-horsepower.
The all-new 10-speed automatic transmission helps to maximize engine power and torque ranges with closer ratios between gears and patented hydraulic controls. Its shifting performance benefits from lighter materials as well; this is the first transmission system from Ford to do away with cast iron elements and use exclusively advanced materials and alloys.
